Privacy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. Written to be read.

This is a plain-language draft that has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet. It describes what Scentedia does today.

What we collect

  • Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time link. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the name on your Google account.
  • What you add: wear reports (hours, setting, city, date, optional note), and the fragrances you put on your shelf.
  • Technical data: your IP address and browser details appear in server and security logs, and are used to prevent abuse and fix faults.
  • One essential cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies today.

What other people see

If your report has a note, visitors can see your first name (or “A Scentedia member”), the setting, hours, rating, city and any ownership or free-sample label. Your email is never shown. Your shelf is private.

Why we use it

To run Scentedia: sign you in, show reports, keep the service safe and fix problems. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

Who helps us run it

  • Cloudflare, which delivers the site and protects it from attacks.
  • Our server host in Singapore, where the data is stored.
  • An email delivery provider, to send your sign-in link, once email delivery is switched on.
  • Google, only if you choose Google sign-in.

Some of these providers process data outside Malaysia.

How long we keep it

Your account and reports are kept until you ask us to delete them. Technical logs are kept for a short period. We keep backups for up to 14 days.

Your choices

Under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, and withdraw your consent. Scentedia is not intended for children.
