How we measure

Scentedia shows how long fragrances last in Malaysian conditions, using what real people report. Here is exactly how.

What is a wear report?

One real wearing of one fragrance. You tell us where you were (aircon, a bit of both, or outdoors), how many hours you could still smell it, whether people nearby noticed it, whether it left a trail, how many sprays you used, your city and the day. You can add a short note. It takes about a minute.

How the numbers are shown

  • A fragrance gets a plain-words verdict once 5 people have reported. Before that we say so instead of guessing.
  • Hours for aircon or outdoors appear once 3 people have reported in that setting.
  • The big number is the middle result (the median). “Most say 8 to 9” is the range the middle half of reports fall in, so one extreme report cannot distort it.
  • These are community observations, not laboratory tests. Skin, weather and the number of sprays all change how a fragrance wears.

Keeping reports honest

  • Your first report is checked by us before it appears. After that, your reports appear straight away.
  • People who work for a brand cannot report on their own brand’s fragrances.
  • If you were given a sample or gift, you say so, and it is shown next to your report.
  • There are daily limits on reports to stop spam.

Where fragrance details come from

Names, sizes, notes and prices come from each brand’s own public product pages and from the brands themselves. We write our own descriptions and only use photos with the brand’s permission. Nothing is published until we have reviewed it.

Where to buy

We only link to official stores: the brand’s own site or its official store on a marketplace. Prices show when we last checked them. Some store links may pay Scentedia a small commission if you buy; when that applies we say so next to the links, and it never changes what we show.
